Mqabba Townhouse

Our client approached SAVERIA with a townhouse rooted in the village core, carrying the kind of limestone and history that most renovations quietly erase. The space had to reflect who he is. Structure and character, held together by a strong connection to the Maltese identity. Every choice had to earn its place against one measure: does this feel grounded, cultured, and quietly his.

The ground floor became the hosting core, built around a round table for long evenings and close conversation. Limestone stays mostly exposed, treated as the backbone of the house rather than a feature to work around.

Wine, whiskey and glass cabinetry move from afterthought to presence, integrated directly into the stone. At the entrance, a record playing lounge zone sets the tone before anyone reaches the rest of the house.

Upstairs, the pace slows. Parquet replaces stone underfoot, and the wardrobe becomes something closer to a tasting vault, wine and clothing held with the same quiet intention.

Materials stay warm throughout: aged brass, vintage timber, collected art, textiles chosen for how they feel rather than how they photograph. Lighting is layered by hand, never flat. Atmosphere is prioritized, always.
